Practical information

Every day, Chemins de Fer de Provence makes four return trips between Nice and Digne-les-Bains. The 151km track connects the Maritime Alps with the Alps of Haute-Provence. The train serves around 10 stations and 30 other stops.
The train also makes 44 trips daily between Nice, Colomars and Plan du Var.

Car parks

There are paid parking spaces in front of the station in Nice. You can also park in one of the tram’s park and ride carparks for the price of a return tram ticket.
There are around ten free parking spaces at Lingostière train station (Plaine du Var).
There is plenty of free parking around other stations. 


Bookings are not required for individuals.
Bookings are compulsory for all-inclusive excursions, the steam train and groups of 15 people and over.

In stations, the following methods of payment are accepted: cash, credit cards (except American Express), cheques made out to RRT PACA and holiday vouchers (chèques vacances).
On trains, the following methods of payment are accepted: cash, cheques or holiday vouchers (chèques vacances).
Credit cards are not accepted in trains.


Bicycles may not be taken on passenger trains.

Mail service

Small parcels weighing less than 5kg can be sent from any station. For large parcels, please contact Lingostière train station by calling +33 (0)4 93 29 82 82.


Small dogs weighing less than 5kg and travelling in baskets or on their owners’ laps do not require tickets. Half-price tickets must be purchased for large dogs. Large dogs must also wear muzzles.
